BH Testing for 3M

Josh Duhamel was chased by a bear this spring, but surprisingly it wasn’t at his cabin in northern Minnesota.

The actor recently teamed up with 3M to explore the return of baseball to Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins, when he got into a bit of trouble with TC Bear, the Twins mascot.

In a short video posted on 3M.com, Josh crisscrosses the stadium and points out how 3M Science has helped welcome back Twins fans this season. He also explains how that same science will be featured and used at this year’s 3M Open.

But Josh’s curiosity gets him in trouble with TC Bear, who thinks the actor is trespassing. A game of cat and mouse ensues.

“We wanted to make something fun and still explain all the cool stuff 3M is doing,” said Josh. “3M is literally helping bring people back to places and moments they love. It takes a lot of science to make that happen and it takes a company like 3M to make people feel safe.”

Josh partnered with 3M because of the company’s innovative spirit and his own inquisitiveness – a hallmark trait of any 3M scientist.

“There is a real curiosity in me,” he said. “There’s a real need to be creative that I’ve had since I was a little kid.”

As an example, Josh said that when film production in Hollywood came to a standstill, he redirected his creativity by working on his rustic cabin in northern Minnesota.

He admits that the time in the woods helped him reset and reflect on what matters most in his life, including who he works with.

“I want to do stuff that I can look back on forty years from now and be proud of,” he said. “I want to develop meaningful relationships with companies that I have respect for, like 3M.”

Josh will serve as a tournament ambassador for the 3M Open alongside NFL tight end Kyle Rudolph. The duo will help bring awareness to the event, promote its community focus, interact with fans throughout the week, and, in the case of Josh, highlight the variety of 3M Science at the tournament.

“It’s time for us to be with each other again,” said Josh. “I’m really happy we’ll get a chance to do that at the 3M Open.”

The third annual 3M Open will take place July 22-25 at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota.
